By using our products in place of competing EMLs (Electroabsorption Modulated Lasers) the customer will see significant overall cost reductions by avoiding expensive chip fabrication, eliminating expensive drivers, widening manufacturing tolerances at the driver level, enabling tunability over a few channels for inventory management and improving link margins by providing up to 7 dBm of optical power (compared to 0-2 dBm in EMLs).

Uses mature 10G directly modulated laser technology
High modulated optical output power (4-7dBm)
Low drive requirement (40mA pp) allows driver power consumption savings
Available in non-tunable versions (DM80-01-0/1/2) and narrow tunable versions enabling 8x50GHz or 4x100GHz tuning (DM80-01-3/4)
Covers all ITU Grids in both C-band and L-band
