Xgig® Secure System Overview
Fibre Channel is a high-speed communications protocol widely used in
the commercial and military avionic environments (FC-AE). It is used in
setting up data link backbones of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, F-18
Hornet, etc. to provide communication between the integrated core
processor and the sensors, as well as the com/nav/identification (CNI)
system and the displays. The supported topology includes
point-to-point, switched fabric and arbitrated loop (FC-AL) topologies.
Finisar's Xgig® Secure System leverages our expertise in Fibre
Channel protocol analysis and is designed specially for military
applications. It supports the commonly used FC-AE protocols such as
FC-AE-ASM, FC-AE-1553 and FC-AE-RDMA. It also supports both Avionic
Fibre Channel class 2 and class 3 services.
A key feature of
the Xgig Secure System chassis is a 2 GB Flash drive containing the
system and application kits which can be removed and stored separately
from the chassis for maximum data security protection. When engaged in
the chassis, the drive is securely key-locked to prevent unauthorized
removal.
The Xgig Secure System performs testing of Fibre
Channel interfaces configured in any topology including those used in
avionic environments. A single system can provide traffic generation,
error injection, and advanced analysis across 16-ports (maximum) with
data rates from 1Gb/s to 10.5Gb/s.
With an advanced hardware
synchronization technology, Finisar's Xgig platform is able to
time-sync as many as 64 ports with time resolution of only 5ns,
allowing for analysis of complicated networking structures including
switch fabric and correlating data flow.
Xgig Expert software
provides a unique and robust debugging and analysis tool capable of
automatically sorting through millions of events to quickly identify
performance, upper layer protocol, logical layer, and physical layer
issues. Widely accepted by commercial applications, Xgig Expert is
considered the best troubleshooting tool for Fibre Channel.
