A Building Block for ROADMs
Finisar’s WSS (wavelength selective switch) products are based on its Dynamic Wavelength Processor (DWP) platform. The DWP is a high functionality module for wavelength management in a DWDM telecommunications network. It provides a highly flexible wavelength selective switch capability operating on both 50 and 100 GHz ITU grids for 10G and 40G applications. The module’s advanced functionalities include drop and continue, channel monitoring and channel contouring, plus an in-service functionality and software upgrade capability.
Finisar takes advantage of its diverse component and manufacturing capabilities and utilises the unique features of the DWP to create custom WSS module and ROADM circuit pack assemblies.
