Finisar offers Chirp Managed Lasers (CMLTM) in TOSA and Butterfly Box packages, which is a unique technology that enables the use of Directly Modulated DFB as a low-cost, compact alternative to externally modulated sources for metro and long-haul applications. These are of most interest in the 80-200km transmission range. Parts are available in a single channel or narrow band tunable with either 4x100GHz or 8x50GHz tuning options. Parts cover both C- and L-band channels on the ITU grid.
